Heartsaver CPR AED

The Heartsaver AED course is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours depending on additional optional topics selected (child CPR AED, infant CPR and/or written exam).  We offer one-to-one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn CPR, personal trainers, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years. Prior to the completion of the class there is a practical skills exam. The Heartsaver CPR AED Student Workbook is not included in the cost of the class. 

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to do the following:

• Learn and practice the new 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR 
• Perform one-person rescuer CPR for adults
• Give breaths by mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to barrier device
• Relieve a foreign body airway obstruction in a responsive or unresponsive adult victim
• AED use for adults
• Know how and when to activate the Emergency Response System
• Optional modules include child CPR and AED use, child choking, infant CPR, infant choking, optional written test
