PALS for Healthcare Providers
PALS Provider is a two day course intended for health care providers. One-on-one instruction is available at no additional cost. The prerequisite for this course is a current (non-expired) BLS card. PALS Provider is recommended for Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses and other health care professionals who provide care to infants and children in a health care setting.
The PALS Provider student manual is highly recommended prior to attending the class. The student manual is not included in the cost of the class.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to do the following:
- Learn and perform early interventions, resuscitation, and stabilization techniques for the pediatric patient experiencing respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest
- Learn how to participate effectively during an actual event through PALS megacode/scenarios practice
- Recognition and treatment of respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients
- Practice resuscitation skills for pediatric patients
- Know the medication and equipment treatments necessary for different situations of Ventricular Fibrillation, Tachycardia, Bradycardia, respiratory arrest and other special medical conditions
